La Serie Del Caribe

The Serie Del Caribe, or Caribbean Series, a tournament featuring the champions from leagues in a number of Latin American Countries is underway, and much to the surprise of fans here in the States, these games are available online and on television. If you're living in the New England/New York area, you can find a number of the games on the YES Network (the network of the New York Yankees) or on the official website of Major League Baseball (though there you must pay a small fee. With countries like the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela participating, this tournament should draw some interest as a sort of preview for the upcoming World Baseball Classic. Even if you don't care a lick about the caliber of international baseball, this at least is a warm up for spring training. I mean cmon, there's only so much college basketball a sane person can watch... and for me, that amount is zero. A doubleheader will begin shortly on YES at 6:30 pm EST. Jugamos a la pelota!
